What is the festival barbeque?

Traditionally held on the Saturday afternoon before the festival on the lawn at Hazelwood. Its a great chance for teams, coaches and parents to meet and relax prior to the big day. Entry free and everybody is welcome (Click Here)

Are dogs allowed at the Mini Festival?

Dogs are not allowed on the Hazelwood facility at anytime.

Can I hire a tent for the day?

Alexander marquee hire are our festival tent hire partner. Please email contact@alexandermarquees.co.uk (the contact names are Neil and Paula). Please book in your own name / team name and payment and deposits will be taken prior to the installation at Hazelwood. Payments can be made via bacs or over the telephone for card payments.

  • 3m x 3m are £180

What are typical squad sizes?

Usually we work off the following children per team (as a guide):

Under 7 - 6 Children
Under 8 - 8 Children
Under 9 - 11 Children
Under 10 - 12 Children
Under 11 - 13 Children

How many refs do they need to have?

Every team entry is expected to have one coach capable of refereeing an age group. There is an exception for U12 who will have county level referees.

Can relatives come and watch?

Yes of course, please ensure they follow the same entry procedure as players and coaches, by parking in Kempton Park and getting the bus transfer.

Is there a cash machine?

No

I have a blue badge, what do i do about parking?

For blue badge or disability parking please email minifestival@liarfc.co.uk providing proof for and we will allocate a parking pass.

We have designated spaces in front of the club house to the left of the main door.

Playing Kit & Equipment

Are Mouthguards required?

All children playing contact rugby must wear a mouthguard


Can kit be dropped of first?

All playing kit and equipment must be taken on the provided buses. The buses have the required luggage storage. There is not designated drop off for kit at Hazelwood on the day of the festival.

Are there water fountains/water supplies?

Yes water is available each side of the main building, where you will find boot wash facilities. Please ensure you turn off taps after use. Thank you.

Please note this can be up to a 15 minute walk each way from the furthest pitches.

Can they set up tents the night before?

Yes tents can be set up the night before, however we ask attendees and teams to ensure they are in the correct location and no contents are left in the tent over night.

We have had equipment stolen from tents in the past.

The Festival Timings

What are the start and end times? The festival official start time is 12:30 (Saturday-U12) & 09:30am (Sunday - U7 - U12). We aim to have the mini section finished no later than 13:00pm & Youth (U12) finished for 16:00.

How long are breaks between matches?

Breaks between matches are kept to a minimum and we try our hardest to ensure age groups are finished by 13:00 (U7-U11) & 16:00 (U12).

First Aid

Where is first aid?

First Aid will be located on the corner of the 3G pitch on the vendors side. Please consult the programme layout.

Please note each club age group must have a qualified first aider and first aid bag. You will be the first point of call.

Please ensure your bag is checked and refilled. Please have plenty of Ice Packs.

Medals & Prizes

How are the medals given out? Medals will be allocated to you by your age group control. You can then pass them to your players.

Food & Drink

What time does the bar open for breakfast?

8am. They will continue to serve hot food, snacks and drinks till 18:00. Bar closes at 19:00.

How are dietary requirements met?

We have a number of food vendors on site and we ensure the range of food is suitable for most dietary requirements. However if your requirements are special please bring the necessary provisions. Vendors can cancel at short notice.

Do all of the vendors take card payments?

Yes all vendors will accept card payments.
