About the team

The London Irish Wild Geese will start season 2023/2024 in Regional 2 South Central.

In 1951, the club christened its 2nd XV The Wild Geese. The term Wild Geese is used in Irish history to refer to Irish soldiers who left to serve in continental European armies in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. SIR PETER MARKHAM SCOTT, CH, CBE, DSC & BAR, FRS, FZS (1909 – 1989) the famous naturalist created the Geese badge

With the onset of professional rugby in 1996, an agreement was formalised for the amalgamation of the adult/junior sides and youth/mini section into a one club organisation. In 1999 London Irish Amateur Rugby Football Club (Company number 07128849) was incorporated to facilitate this amalgamation. Today the London Irish Wild Geese are the first XV of London Irish Amateur Rugby Football Club. In season 2016/2017 The Wild Geese reached National League 2 South.
