No amount of rain was going to hold back the Under 7s today in their debut festival at Old Guildfordians. Parents looked on proudly as one by one the under 7s took their first competitive tags and scored their first competitive tries.

An astonishing 30 children turned out to take on teams from Effingham, Aldershot, Sutton, Reigate, Dorking, Farnborough and of course Guildford, and despite some of our players being relatively new, I think all the coaches agree, we looked good out there.

The new tent paid for with last year's sponsorship money held up well and was a welcome addition to the team kit- onwards with finding a sponsor for the third wall!

From my point of view it was lovely to see so many parents bonding over their first match and to develop the comradery further, let's get something formally in the diary as a parent's social at the club, maybe a roast after training.
