As with many players and clubs this year, we have had a slow start to the season. Throughout the short season, the girls have supported each other and continued to train week in & week out, abiding by the government and RFU guidelines.
Training had a heavy emphasis on fitness, whilst also including some individual skills with the focus being mainly around enjoyment and recruitment, with a reintroduction to rugby.
This past month, the girls have taken part in a few Ready-4-Rugby games and finally a game of contact on Sunday, 31st May in Dorking. It was the first game of contact in over a year, and the girls should be super proud of their performance. Their grit and determination got them through the game despite a few injuries along the way. They did London Irish proud. COYI!
If you are interested in playing rugby, we are currently recruiting girls aged 13-15 to join our U15s rugby team. We are hard-working girls who love to play rugby with our friends and learn new skills.
You don't have to have played rugby before to join. We are a fully inclusive club with players from divisional and county standards to new girls who have never played before.
We train Thursday evenings from 6.00-7.30pm at Hazelwood, Lower Sunbury.
