Parking on Sundays at Hazelwood is performed by volunteers on a rotational basis from Under 7s to U16s in the Amateur club. The information below is a guide to a typical Sunday at the club and will need to be enhanced for particularly busy days, or festivals / tournaments.
6/7 volunteers as a minimum
All volunteers should wear high-vis bibs that can be obtained from behind the
Hazelwood bar. Gates will be opened by Hazelwood staff
Roles
2 on the main gate
2 directing traffic on the gravel parking area
1 person counting parking spaces in the main car park and advising on gaps
1 person at the top of the HZW Drive to keep traffic moving in case of a build-up on
Green Street and to make sure that visiting teams do not park on the side roads near
the club.
1 person in the overflow car park opposite the 4G pitch
Timings
Volunteers should meet outside the Clubhouse at 8:45am and on a normal day be
finished by 10am
Volunteers should also look at the pitch schedule (usually in the bar or outside the main
clubhouse doors) as on busier days it may be prudent to stay-on until 10.30am
Best practice in directing traffic
Direct cars down the left hand side by the bicycle racks - keeping the middle lane for
smaller cars - also SUV / 4x4s/ vans should park on the gravel car park.
Once the parking area is full you can direct larger vehicles on to the grass verge by the
bicycle racks, asking them to park at an angle.
Share mobile phone numbers to communicate and keep one another informed re space
availability between Green Street > Main gate > Gravel parking > Overflow / 4G
