London Irish International Mini Rugby Festival

Sunday 23rd April 2017

The Festival will have its own web site very soon. Please sign up so we can let you know when that happens.

The date for the London Irish Amateur RFC 36th Mini Rugby Festival has been set for Sunday 23rd April 2017, sandwiched between Easter weekend and the May Day bank holiday weekend.

Last year’s festival was a great success and it managed to attract 7 European Nations making it a truly international event. The 2017 festival committee will be convened shortly and further communication/information available on the website, but we appreciate that clubs travelling from afar need a date as a start point to start gauging interest, plan tour travel transport/logistics and also time to ensure the required “permissions to tour” are in place for English RFU and their domestic RFU. The festival is very popular and we will try our best to accommodate clubs where practicable.

Of note are the RFU Age Grade Rugby changes that have come into effect this season in England, where mini’s age grade goes up to and includes U11’s, and also the change in competitive framework. However, we do, with Surrey RFU approval, plan to hold an U12 event running side by side with the mini’s festival so that it is consistent with previous years.

Please watch this space for more festival communication in the near future.
