At London Irish ARFC we cater for all abilities and aspirations for Ladies rugby, from Tag to Touch to Tackle. Ladies and Girls rugby is one of the fastest-growing sports around building confidence, strength, fitness and discipline while also having a great social side. It’s not just for boys and men anymore – whether you just want to play for fun or be right up there challenging for honours, there’s a place for everyone at London Irish.
London Irish ARFC Girls return for a second season from Sunday September 4th 2016 at 10am. Building on the success of 2015-2016, we continue to offer top quality facilities, coaching and opportunities.
Adult Ladies Contact
LIARFC Ladies (18+) are now recruiting for their contact squads 2016-2017. We welcome all levels of ability and experience, we offer both a competitive and a development structure. We offer a vibrant sporting and social scene and all we ask is a “give it a go ” attitude with a desire to enjoy the great game of women’s rugby. For those looking for the more physical challenges that contact rugby offers, come contact training as with the Adult Ladies Contact Training Thursday 7pm-8.30pm.
The inception of the LIARFC Ladies contact team(s) will be assisted by a Sporting alliance with the Buckinghamshire New University, where they too have a definite appetite and intention to develop Ladies Contact rugby for their students. LIARFC will be an available affiliate club to Bucks Uni working in partnership to bolster the LIARFC Ladies Contact squads from September 2016. Working together we aim to achieve a sustainable increase in the number of 18-25yr old Ladies engaging with the game of development, competitive and representative rugby. This affiliation programme initiated by LIARFC, is a new, exciting and progressive departure for both stakeholders, with the shared core values of sustainability, sportsmanship and enjoyment at its very heart. LIARFC Ladies look forward to welcoming the Bucks Uni girls into their club team and together we will work to promote the game of Ladies rugby.”
Ladies Touch Rugby
For those of you just looking for fun and fitness then our Touch Rugby sessions are a great alternative to the other fitness classes that are available locally and afford you the opportunity to trial ladies’ rugby and it’s a great social occasion as well. We have players from 15-50, and compete regularly and successfully in local Touch leagues.
