The Under 9 Bs at Camberley

We had a great festival at Camberley yesterday. Four games played and a big performance by everyone to win three of them and almost a great comeback in the fourth!

We started slowly in the first match against Camberley but in the second half our work rate and concentration improved dramatically. Exactly the same in our second match with a slow start and cracking second half against Old Guildfordians. We managed to get off to a good start in our third match against Ironsides and kept it going for the whole match for as good a team performance as I’ve seen for quite a while. We were finally beaten in our last match by Drifters where their big player kept getting through our tackles. We were well down at half time but almost managed the comeback in the second half.

Report from Shane Feeney

Some cracking memories…..

Lorcan finding another gear and leaving the opposition floundering as he tore down the wing to score a great try.
Ronan’s discipline in running great support lines and fantastic work rate getting back in the defensive line really quickly.
Joey running straight and hard at the centre of the opposition defence and making ground every single time.
Matthew tackling and driving his man back about 10 metres to force a great turnover.
Donnacha’s “twinkle toes” running to break through about 4 or 5 tackle attempts and score a brilliant try.
Kevin’s amazingly quick pass off the floor to put us through for a try.
Lucas running, as only he can, to score an unstoppable try.
Hamza getting stuck in and tackling a player twice his size, and bringing him down.
Harry tackling over and over again and ripping the ball (not allowed at this age but done with such brilliance that he is surely a future brilliant openside).
