[quote_left]Visitors had lost seven of seven before this match[/quote_left]
On Saturday 7th November, the Wild Geese hosted Westcliff. The visitors certainly did not look like a team languishing near the foot of the table with a played-seven-lost-seven record this year, and started confidently. Not what the Geese were expecting. Although the London Irish side scored first, Westcliff came back to be leading at half time.
A disallowed try from the visitors in the second half was a fortunate break for the home team and play was tough and competitive after that. It looked increasingly as if Westcliff would gain their first win of the season but the fortitude of the Wild Geese showed in the last ten minutes when they scored a couple of tries to come out winners 17-13.

This win consolidates our team’s place at the top of National League 3. But it was difficult not to feel for Westcliff. For a moment they had glory in their hands only to see it dashed away.
Please note that next Saturday’s game vs. East Grinstead will be at HOME (and not ‘away’ as published originally in the fixture list). We look forward to your support once again, at 2.30 pm, in what will be the sternest test to date. You can see the complete Wild Geese fixture list here.
