Steve and Dean say “Thank you”.

17 March 2017

Steve Tingsley, Groundsman, LIARFC

We want to say Thank you to all the parents who stayed off the lawn last week.

We’re sure it was extremely wet on Sunday morning and as a result of your co-operation didn’t look too bad on Monday.

We have been busy Verti-Draining the whole site in the last couple of weeks, all the playing surfaces including the paddock have been treated. This machine punches holes 25mm (1 inch) in diameter and up to 400mm (16 inches) deep into the pitches at 100mm (4 inch) centres. This is to aid drainage, relieve compaction and introduce air into the profile which will all go towards increasing root growth, at a time of year when the grass is about to begin its growing season.

There has been no notable growth of grasses as yet but with the warmer days we are experiencing then it will not be long before we see mowing machine put to use.
