The Chairman of London Irish Amateur Rugby Football Club, Peter Graham, has stepped down as Club Chairman. Peter is shortly to undergo major orthopedic surgery on his back. This will involve a lengthy recovery period during which time Peter does not feel he can properly carry out this key role at the club.
Peter took over as Chairman from the late David Fitzgerald in June 2015, having served as chair of mini & youth rugby for 5 years. In that first 2015/16 season, he led the club through a difficult time following David’s subsequent sudden death. Peter also oversaw the promotion of our Wild Geese first XV from National League 3 to National League 2 and their subsequent retention of their National League 2 status in the 2016/17 season recently ended, as well as another two very successful seasons for our mini and youth rugby squads and the continued growth of London Irish ladies rugby.
We thank Peter sincerely for his many years of service and the club is indebted to him for his calm and supportive leadership as chairman of the club.
Our former president John Walsh has agreed to step in as interim chairman.
